Dean Phillips: Veterans Welfare Lead
Dean Phillips, recently turned veteran with over 22 years of experience in the Royal Air Force, has joined Veterans Welfare Group to bring his firsthand experience of the challenges faced by those transitioning out of military life. After being medically discharged, Dean personally encountered the challenges of securing employment, managing ongoing care, and navigating post-service treatment.
His experiences have driven his passion to support fellow veterans through these often difficult and confusing times.
Supporting Mr. William Thompson
We are thrilled to have been able to help Mr. William Thompson, a former Royal Armoured Corps soldier who was struggling with hearing loss and tinnitus following an injury during his service. With the support of Veterans Welfare Group and the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation, Mr. Thompson was fitted with a pair of advanced hearing aids through our Sponsor a Veteran programme. You can read more about this inspiring story here and follow his journey as he regains his quality of life.
About Our ‘Sponsor a Veteran’ Programme
Our ‘Sponsor a Veteran’ programme provides life-changing hearing technology to veterans who have suffered hearing loss due to their service. These veterans need advanced hearing aids to help them reintegrate into civilian life, secure employment, and rebuild their social connections. Your donation ensures they receive the best available technology and three years of aftercare with an independent audiologist. In addition, your support helps another veteran with tinnitus or mental health struggles, offering counselling, equipment, or respite.
We recognise your contribution through a featured story on our website, social media exposure, and a Friends of the Foundation logo for your marketing and CSR efforts.
